Strongly influenced by Explosions in the sky, Radiohead, Mogwai and Slowdive, Gray Strawberries are a project started in 2006, with their demotape called "Violent skies of May", with post-rock, shoegazer, avant-garde experimental tendences, what nowadays is not a common kind of music in Brazil.
After playing the alternative circuit of São Paulo state, with granted them many compliments, also because of their young age, the band entered studio to record their second album, "A Metropolitan Passionate Idealist", released in July, when also they featured the Amelia..s Magazine, from England, and a compilation by them.
Nowadays, after this release, the band is under a renewing and changing process, to get in the road again.
Sob fortes influências de Explosions in the Sky, Radiohead, Mogwai e Slowdive, a Gray Strawberries é um projeto que teve início em 2006, inpirado em tendências post-rock, shoegaze, experimental de vanguarda. Um trabalho hoje, pouco explorado no Brasil.
Já considerada um dos maiores nomes da sua região, esses jovens de idade entre 17 e 22 anos chamam atenção pela precocidade. Com pouco mais de um ano e meio de banda, e alguns meses após o lançamento da sua demo, Violent Skies of May, já fazem parte do circuito independente da capital paulista, alcançando uma repercussão bastante positiva por onde passam. Seus instrumentais densos, de melodias intermináveis que transitam da serenidade até a mais bruta violência são sempre baseados na inventividade e no novo. O primeiro trabalho deles, Violent Skies of May, composto de 5 longas faixas, e inspirado no tornado que atingiu a cidade de Indaiatuba em maio de 2005, já arrancou elogios de muita gente da cena paulista, além de possibilitar a eles subir a passos largos os degraus da difícil cena post-rock brasileira.

Grouper (US) has her latest – Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill – of three albums on Type Records. She has also been involved in collaborative releases, contributing a track to Xiu Xiu’s Remixed & Covered and four tracks to a split release with Inca Ore. Her other contemporaries are Belong, Growing, Tim Hecker, Windy & Carl and Atlas Sound.
Jasper TX (Sweden), with a hefty back-catalogue of releases on labels such as Miasmah, and collaborations with buddy Machinefabriek, is an essential domestic appliance in the household of conceptual music. He is comparable to artists Fennesz, Sigur Ros, Múm and Tape.
Intricate and atmospheric songsmith, Danny Saul (UK) performs with different combinations of musicians, making each gig a unique event. His forthcoming release is "Harsh, Final", and he also performs with Greg Haines as Liondialer.
Fieldhead (UK) music delights in tape hiss, bleak landscapes and decaying analogue loops. He is also a member of The Declining Winter and Glissando. His debut album, "They Shook Hands for Hours" is released soon on Home Assembly.

Operations (Chris Anderson) is a Manchester based conceptual music producer and sound artist. Black Emperor, Stephen O'Malley, Type and 12K Records will surely nod in approval.
