The Great Lakes Crew all started with the release of the album Presumed Innocent on New Year's Eve, 2001. With that, The Great Lakes Crew took on music and started sowing seeds. Ron J joined in 2004, and a true Crew was formed. Studio time hit hard. A concert and mixtape followed, and work on an album began. The tides of the Lakes were changing.
The Great Lakes took its time with its next album. By that time, the MCing and production skills of the group were already enormous. The album Sing Along with The Great Lakes, released in the summer of 2006, reflected the growth and breakthrough of three emerging artists in the heart of the Great Lakes region, Toledo, Ohio.
The city of Toledo sits like a ship on the Maumee Bay of Lake Erie, which is a part of the grime and sunshine that is The Great Lakes. Better bring your boat, we get wet.
