What good is an electro-prog collective without a sprawling double album? This is GUL’s magnum opus: 90+ minutes of spaced-out electro-kraut for chattering robots and sighing androids. $3 postpaid from Sinkhole Texas Inc.
Atarimatt and great unwashed luminaries remix the Atarimatt classic "Commuter" and add two more tracks a piece of quarter-pumpin' arcade punk and dope-smokin' electro-prog. $2 postpaid from Sinkhole Texas Inc.
great unwashed luminaries is the electronic alter-ego for me, indie rock drummer Kelly Minnis. I formed GUL out of love for classic 1970's electronica and 1980's new wave. GUL began performing at house parties and clubs in Seattle in 2004 . Now I reside in College Station, TX and you can catch GUL live in clubs from Austin to Dallas to Houston and places in-between. GUL has also toured the Southeast, Midwest and Northwest.
great unwashed luminaries blends classic Berlin School electronica with post-rock, prog, ambient, krautrock and electropop. You could say GUL makes "Kosmiche electro prog" or music to roll Dragon Dice to... Or, as The Game Dame puts it, "This is the kind of music you hear when you’re walking through a dark room, see a bunch of health packs and ammo and know that if you go through the doors, you are about to be in one helluva battle." Or as Grave Concerns puts it, "great unwashed luminaries takes a more ambient approach, with slow industrial beats reverberating beneath brooding synthesizer pads." Some kid told another kid at one of my shows at Hot Topic recently "Dude, it's like techno but not lame like techno". Space City Rock sez "GUL cruises along like Kraftwerk riding shotgun with Knight Rider in some alternate version of Beverly Hills Cop". Or as Omaha hot mess El Diablos Bloncos wrote: "I dont know if I call it new age......But I would call it awesome." Word up.
great unwashed luminaries has released five albums, two EP's, one split EP, one 4CD boxed set and two appearances on the Ball of Wax compilation series, the most recent releases being You May As Well Argue With Gravity, our first double album out on Sinkhole Texas Inc and the 4CD boxed set Saving Throw vs. Spell compiling GUL's first three CD's plus a disc of bonus materal. The exclusive GUL track "The New Fighter Jets" appears on the just-released Atarimatt Dance Dance Party Party Fun Fun compilation on Sinkhole Texas Inc. Also keep an eye out for and the forthcoming Kill Screen album due this summer.

But, we're really not a Band, as you would think of that being, rather a collection of mere misguideds, wondering around with instruments and recording equipment. So, it is safe to say, you'd be perfectly at Peace to add us........... I think
