Great Western Pilots are a unsigned London based Rock n' Roll band that formed in the first quarter of 2008. The band comprises of 5 members, Richard Grisman (vocalist) a singer/songwriter with magnetic stage presence, Rami Madhon (lead/rhythm guitarist) the electrifying blues/rock guitarist, Simon Whittle (rhythm guitarist) off the cuff rock and rollist with flair, Milkha Lala (bassist) a innovative driving force on bass and finally Abe Ghory (drummer) the continuous heartbeat that demands attention from the back. GWP are currently touring the live music scene and are known for there heavy guitar driven songs and onstage theatrics.
The band are originally from a small suburb in South West London called 'Heston', a former farming village located near the M4. It's known as the birthplace of legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and former hometown to Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple. Much of there youth was spent delving into live performances of 70's rock greats, attending gigs, festivals, anywhere the buzz would take them, Rock n' Roll was the game they played and it was the thing that brought them together.
At the end of 2007 the band started up a project called 'Band Needs Voice' to attract a singer. They instantly found what they were looking for with Richard Grisman, a experienced singer with a powerful grain filled voice that complemented the hard-hitting style of the band. Now that the band line-up was complete they embarked on a vigorous rehearsal schedule, writing and recording new songs, developing there sound so that they could begin playing in front of a live audience.
GWP have now been touring the London circuit since the summer of '08. They've played in various locations since first starting, notably; The Purple Turtle, The Barfly, The Peel, The Fighting Cocks, The Bull & Gate, The Shed (Leicester), The Good Ship and Thames Valley University, they've amounted 50+ gigs in one year with the ethos of never stopping. There goal has been a simple one, to create a live sounding rock n' roll band that thrives by having tasty guitar hooks, blistering vocals and a thunderous rhythm section. Promotional material is also done within the band, songs, artwork, and video content are all produced under the 'GWP Productions' banner. Great Western Pilots are currently seeking management and a record label to further there careers.
£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
