G recordings is a drum n bass label born in 2007 and based in Milan, Italy. It is the developement of a cultural association "Golpe Movement" (born in 2003). Its goal was to find and promote new talents, young artists (producers and vjs) and beginner djs in the italian and european drum n bass scene, and to organize several parties with many big international names.
After some years the cultural association “Golpe Movement” became a team of djs and artists with their own nights and parties. This new attitude did not effect the main idea of the association: being a link between all the artists and crews based in Italy in general and in Milan in particular.
In 2006 Golpe Movement works with Hertzquake crew, a dnb collective based in Milan, in Verona, and in the South of Italy. This collaboration goes ahead today, in 2007, at Transilvania Live, a club in Milan, in which took place lot of excellent drum n bass nights (Pendulum, Hype, Dj Marky...).
But the most important result of this collaboration is the partnership between "Promenade" (Golpe Movement owner) and "DP" (Hertzquake member). In the early 2007, infact, they start the new drum n bass label "G Recordings"!
Although they like different styles of drum n bass, they have a common goal: make concrete and even better what they did so far...
They want to make concrete the main attitude of the association "Golpe Movement" which is to connect artists and promote them in the market, but, of course, this is for who has a good tune to release. This is because we want to offer a high quality standard of production, according to the UK drum n bass skool.
At present we have a schedule with 3 releases. G Recordings - distributed by Nu Urban Music - will focus on a dancefloor rolling style but not only one: it will be from liquid to jump up, with a bit of the techy sound of drum n bass.
The first release (may/june 2007) is "Dubtrip" (Dj DP) b/w "All Over" (Dj DP + Arp Xp)

G Recordings è un'etichetta discografica che nasce a Milano nel 2007 con l'idea di produrre e promuovere drum'n'bass in Italia e all'estero.
L'etichetta rappresenta la concretizzazione di un progetto nato nel 2004, sempre a Milano, per mano di alcuni giovani creativi che attraverso l'associazione GolpeMovement, decidono di dedicarsi alla promozione di artisti italiani e nello stesso tempo all'organizzazione di parties che hanno visto la partecipacipazione dei piu' grossi artisti della scena drum n bass internazionale .
Sono però le collaborazioni esterne a segnare il percorso che determinerà la decisione di aprire l'etichetta.
Nell'estate del 2006 "Golpe Movement" collabora con "Hertzquake crew" (collettivo drum'n'bass che, come Golpe, lavora parallelamente a Milano e in Puglia) nella promozione di una serie di fortunati eventi nel Salento. Quest'episodio determinerà da un lato la collaborazione delle due realtà nella stagione drum'n'bass del 2007 a Milano , dall'altra avvicinerà Promenade (GolpeMovement) e DP (Hertzquake) i due djs fondatori dell'etichetta.
Pur avendo gusti musicali differenti, Promenade e DP si riconoscono nello stesso obiettivo e iniziano un assidua collaborazione. Dopo poco più di quattro mesi di attività, i due sono sempre più decisi a concretizzare quanto di buono fatto nel corso nel corso di questi anni attraverso la promozione di parties drum n bass. Tutto ciò aprendo un'etichetta e promuovendola sul mercato in tutta Europa.
A febbraio iniziano a cercare un distributore. La ricerca finisce subito con il miglior risultato possibile: la Nu Urban Music di Londra - al momento la più attiva casa distributrice drum n bass - trova interessante il materiale dell'etichetta. A Maggio uscirà il promo della prima release con due brani di DP, "Dubtrip" e "All Over", quest’ultimo realizzato in collaborazione con l’artista sardo Arp-Xp (già prodotto su Toughness Rec).
Il team di lavoro di G recordings è composto, oltre che dai già citati Promenade e DP, da Ilaria Pacini, label management e press agency. Da Arp-Xp, da Enea Bardi aka Gap, bassista arrangiatore e produttore di altissimo livello.
Da qui inizia la nostra avventura con G recordings ispirati dal rispetto delle radici del drum n bass.
