| General | Greek Life, (thank you captian obvious), clothing, trends - both fashion and pop culture, did I mention Greek Life?
There was a time when people started sending me listings of Famous Greeks from their Chapter or Campus. We started listing them in our catalog and then on our website. I turned into quite a hobby that many people enjoyed reading. If you have not seen it - Check out the HUGE listing of Famous Greeks on our website. You can sort by affiliation or see the entire list.

A group for ALL Fraternities and Sororities | | Music | Since there are a lot of people in our office, this is a tricky one. It usually starts with a 20 min techno session until someone realizes that it's still playing, then we switch to XM channel 54 (Lucy.) Later in the day, there will be a good couple of hours of classic 80's. If you don't get Sirius or XM radio, you should try it, it's fantastic. The hardest part is deciding which station to listen to since there are so many great ones.
Jay Z, Silverchair, Alicia Keys, Beastie Boys, Paul Oakenfolde, Mary J Blige, U2, etc... | | Movies | Animal House, Revenge of the Nerds, PCU, Legally Blonde, just kidding. I think that the film industry (and media in general) loves to show Fraternities and Sororities in the most stereotypical fashion. Even in the remake of the Dukes of Hazzard - Bo and Luke make a stop at a Sorority house - if you've seen the unrated version of the film... nuff said. Send me a list of movies with Greeks and I will post them here - the good, bad and ugly!
Personal note:
I hate the fact that Greeks are portrayed in movies as negative elements. Anyone remember the last one they saw showing a Dance Marathon? Chapter Philanthropy? Every week we make shirts for philanthropy and charity events across the coutry. Chapters raise thousands of dollars for great organizations like St. Judes, CMN, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, etc... Keep up the good work, and remember movies are not reality (although some chapters attempt to recreate the negative they see.)

The Greek community has the same issues with TV as with movies - about how they portray Greeks. They add us as characters when they need certain stereotypes for a scene. It's been going on for years: on 90210, Steve joined Kappa Epsilon Gamma (KEG) Fraternity. | | Books | The latest copy of the Greek101 catalog. Do you have a copy? I can hook you up. | | Heroes | Our parents - whom as much as we might not agree with them on all of the decisions they made/make... they were probably made in our best interest in mind.
