Who I'd like to meet: Folks who love books, art, music, ideas...
russell, thanks for faciliating such an awesome event saturday night. it was so much fun. thanks also for being such a fantabulous neighbor and friend to Barehands. we really appreciate all you do!
Russell: this is a test to see how this thing looks in yr FC section. Also available in b&w, go to my page MY PICS, album Prevues of Coming Attractions to print out.
Favorite movie scene: Five Easy Pieces- Jack Nicholson plays a rebellious son of an uppity upper crust family who prefers to go "on the road" and grit it out in real life rather than live up to his heritage as a cultured priviledged son. He hooks up with Karen Black, playing a heavy-chested, gum-smacking, heavily lipsticked workingclass-slob waitress. Takes her home to meet the uppity family. They're all sitting around the whitetablecloth dinner silver set when pompous old Mrs. Uppity starts ranting about the low-brow culture inherent in 'television' and how surely nobody in her esteemed circle stoops to be caught dead watching the damn thing. Upon which hearing lovely Karen perks up, wiggles her bouncing boobs, gives her gum a smack and proclaims- in all honesty and without a hint of malice at the ole battleaxe- "but, but...there's some good 'thangs' on it." Cracks me up...captures exactly how i feel- "there's some good 'thangs' on it..."
Thanks for everything you are doing Russell. We will get these classes off the ground soon I think. In the meantime, tell Corra and Lucy to stock up on art materials so we can draw some more castles. lol In case you didn't know, your young'ens rock.
