The Havers formed in 2007 to carry on the individual band members’ shared tradition of playing upbeat Irish/Celtic rock – but adding a bluegrass influence...
Each one of The Havers has recently come from actively gigging Irish acts – Bob from Philadelphia-based The Barley Boys, Mike B. from The Ex-Patriots, and Mike S. from his long-standing weekly solo appearances at Rare Olde Times in Richmond.
The Havers play a mix of Irish and bluegrass traditionals, drinking songs and the like - songs about love, famine, weddings, wakes, rebellion, beer and whiskey (admittedly, mostly beer and whiskey). We like to play what we can to get the crowd dancing / drinking / clapping / stomping / singing along!

Hey guys, love to have as many fellow musicians and local bands as possible come and hang with us on thursday (we all know getting crowds on a Thursday can be dicey sometimes) at Cary Street Cafe. Definitely dig the music, and hope you can come. Hope all is well and keep rockin. Matt
