CORE VALUES:
Our main objectives and core values for Greenhouse (both local and translocal) are:
--COMMUNITY
Because everything we do and are starts with relationship...
1)We endeavor to build authentic relationships by providing a safe place where artists can truly be themselves, while experiencing God in a fresh way through the unconditional love and support of others in the community. 2)We encourage healthy growth in the Greenhouse community through fellowship, collaboration, conversation, creativity, service, providing rich resources, and quality speakers, teachers and established artists who are brought in to encourage and equip.
--CREATIVITY
Because we believe artists need to pursue the act of creating and honing their craft...
We provide opportunity to...
1)Meet the Great Creator intimately
2)Talk candidly about the creativity process, and getting past the things that block it
3)Actively take part in the creative endeavors by doing activities that get the artistic juices flowing, such as creativity exercises, educational classes, open mic nights, opportunities to experience art and culture, etc.
--CLARITY
Because we believe it is our mandate to call out the God given destinies of artists globally...
1)We pursue opportunities to raise the artist's vision to see themselves as prophetic conduits of God's voice and participants in Kingdom purposes worldwide. Artists can and will shake the nations! 2)We see this as a long term committment to the artist's heart: to love and support them on their journey until THEY see clearly for themselves and can walk unapologetically into their destiny.
--CONTENDING
Because we deeply value those God puts in the Greenhouse to grow...
1)We war for each other's destinies in prayer.
2)We hold each other accountable to be good stewards of the giftings God has given.
3)We instill the value of finding proper mentors and in taking time to mentor others.
4)We encourage each other and cheer each other on on the journey we take together as part of this community

Here is the prayer: Abba, I surrender my will and my life to you today without reservation and with humble confidence, for you are my loving Father. Set me free from self-consciousness, from anxiety about tomorrow and from the tyranny of the approval and disapproval of others, that I may find joy and delight simply and solely in pleasing you. May my inner freedom be a compelling sign of your presence, your peace, your power, and your love. Let your plan for my life and the lives of all your children gracefully unfold one day at a time. I love you with all my heart, and I place all my confidence in you, for you are my Abba. (Love you all!)
Hey, greenhousearts.com seems to be down. We just got press in Jonathan's songwriters' workshop (awesome stuff and great turnout) yesterday--I told everyone they must sign up . . . and it's down. Eeek!!!
The Greenhouse (and y'all know who you are--um, ok, probably if you're reading this, you are) has definitely been that community for me (those of whom Doug spoke tonight) that has spoken to my potential and looked beyond the ugliness, the barrenness and the ill fit of my current season. Only God knows how life-giving and life-changing you have been. I love you. And thank you. (more reflections on tonight's call: 2006-12-18 Teleconference with Doug Fike)
