1986 and 87' ; Band jams an 'experimental' new sound and idea ... mixing the blues with heavy metal and punk rock...group dresses in 'regular guy' clothes' or often a 'tattered' look which seems to go hand in hand with the band's murky 'indie rock' sound which seems to be derived from Sabbath, Zep, Deep Purple and the like...also 'underground' punker bands are an influence and stuff like the Beatles, Who, and Bowie....just a three piece with a drummer lead singer....this band does everything heavy and hard...but is no metal band indeed .........
As old photos , other websites, and videos, etc document, G.E., as they are more known are definitely onto something 'new' by 1988 when they release "Global Warming' .....a cassette with enough innovation in it to make most band's whole careers; the seminal 1988 album hits hard from the start with "Precarious', "Number One" and a cover of the Yardbird's song 'Think about it'.....a grungey little classic called 'Racers' is on it plus the South Bay gem 'The Magic Man' ..........
1989 saw the band record the 'four song e.p.' which featured the killer 'A Current Affair' and 'Snake' .....
the two albums were put together as one in the spring of 89'
and sold well as a re-release at record stores through out the South Bay .. and beyond ........
1990 saw the release of the three song 'Immorally Moral' which featured the classic "Waiting for your Love to fail!" and another pretty killer song you might have heard at a gig or two called "Coke snorting Love boys" .....
In august of 90' came the big change......guitarist Keegan exited the band and drummer Hagins moved up to the front on guitar...still a three piece , g.e. recorded one of the best albums ever recorded for avante guard artistic rock as just a two piece!...."Going Legit' dropped onto record store shelves at the dawn of the 1990's in February 1991......This album was loaded with 'grunge rock' classics and enough of the quirky theatrics that could only be g.e. .....everything from the cure to the who to ted nugent to sabbath to Genesis to the Smiths is on this fine little classic cd....killer gigs would follow .........
June 1992 saw the release of 'Agenda' an album entirely recorded by Hagins alone .....
more releases would come after the band broke up in 1992 .....
The 16 song Rock opera 'White Suburban Liar$' (1995) and the classic underground treasure album Fountain 'Weird' (1994) would mark the end of the journey known as g.e. .......
