Some comparisons we have recieved are Sade, Morcheeba, Ursela Rucker and early Jill Scott. Mostly people give us props for creating our own unique sound.
EVEN THOUGH OUR SHAPES AND SHADES DIVIDE US
THERE’S ONLY ONE HEART THAT BEATS INSIDE US

Gracing stages from St Petersburgh, Russia to Toronto, Canada Greenlaw is paving the way for their much anticipated debut album with Formation Records due for International release April 2008. Greenlaw’s earthy soul sound is a new direction for the UK based DnB label but is one that is definitely turning heads. Front woman Skyla J comes with powerful thought provoking lyrics presented with an angelic molasses like voice that is sweet enough to be compared to an early Jill Scott meets Indie Irie by UK’s F magazine. Winners of the "most memorable show of 2004"( Monday Mag Victoria B.C) the band released their full length studio album in 2005 entitled Time and Energy that was quickly hailed by CBC Radio 1 as one of the "top albums of 2005". Recently the band has been nominated for an Indy Award in London England. Greenlaw has also been featured at top festivals, showcases and venues throughout North America, Europe and the UK.

Thank YOU for the love you showed us all this weekend, for playing the music that touches our souls and also for singing the chorus to "Umi Says" during your set! The first piece of rave kandy I ever made spells the title of that song...it's very near and dear to me and when I heard you guys singing it, I seriously freaked out. Very unexpected, and indeed one of the best parts of my evening.
You guys were the first performance I saw that night, and I didn't even think I'd make it to How Sweet this year, but everything came together perfectly and I had one of the best nights of my life, thanks in part to you guys and what you do.
THANKS! Please come back soon, and thank you for the comment love! Nothing but peace and love.

Don't sweat the industry stuff. We have a unique thing and we'll keep on doing it. It was fun to play in the city. It lit a fire under our ass a bit. And now, we have a little more fuel for our punk-rock, anti-establishment mind set. I'm turning up my guitar as you read this. Much love... Fra
