"Newcastle’s beautifully lush and deliciously cleansing thing called Greenspace? They can’t go on releasing such beautiful music and remain such a secret" organ magazine
"these space rock troopers lay waste to clumsy tags of "glacial" and "ethereal" with some of the most beautiful sounds the region has ever produced" NME
"Greenspace are in the enviable position of being able to take their listeners from the comfort of pin drop silence to thunderous crescendos in a heartbeat" Andrew Fenwick
Greenspace were a band from Newcastle Upon Tyne. They started their musical hedonism in 2003, this continued right up until 2007 when the band decided to call it a day, the reasons for the split are not important.
Greenspace released one mini-album entitled 'greenspace' and a single 'Nothing Lost'. Both of these were recorded at Gravity Shack studios in London by the rather fantastic Pat Collier. Thanks to everyone involved in the making of those records, we are VERY proud of everything we released, every single song captures the raw emotion the bands engine used to churn on. These can still be purchased through Pure Groove Records and other indie music stores.
During their time they also embarked on a national tour of the country, a tour filled with exploding cars, carbon monoxide poisoning, sleep deprivation, booze, amazing people and of course the music.
Greenspace loved being in a band, and they loved their music, they played A LOT of gigs, all four members played their music as life on earth depended on it, we meant every word, every note.
Please feel free to download the six songs on this page, stick them on your iPod, tell your friends, that would make us very happy
Thank you to everyone who supported Greenspace in the 4 amazing years we were together. We love you all
Such a shame it had to end. When I saw you at Sonic Cathedral, you were the first band on but you were miles better than Howlin' Bells and those American headliners with the beards. You have composed some absolute gems, so at least the world can be thankful for that. All the best for the future; musically, professionally and personally. Take care, keep safe ....
you guys breaking up is a huge loss to the music community, waiting angels is amazing as is your other material. this is music this is why i listen to music
Hey greenspace, hope you're well. I really enjoyed Saturday - you managed to fill that big place with rivers of warm sound :0) I can't make the unplugged gig, but I'll see you at the next one, which hopefully won't be long. Gemma x

"Your life is a beautifully composed song. It's a masterpiece. Fear is when some sort of scratch causes the record to skip repeatedly and you cannot hear the original song in its effervescent entirety ... here is when I note my friend, you never needed the record or the record player ... let your soul do the singing, your senses do the listening and your intuition do the playing." - JV Delalunas
"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment." - Marcus Aurelius
"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt
... Do the Un-done ... See the Un-seen ... Listen to the Un-heard ... Feel the Un-touched ... Taste the Un-taste-able ... Smell the scent that is becoming ...
