April 3 @ 7PM, the Floor Lords (one of the ILLEST bboy crews in the USA) will be doing their theater show, "Floor Lore" at Lyndon State College.
DON'T MISS THIS!!!! TICKETS ARE ONLY $3 FOR KIDS & $5 FOR ADULTS!!!
Come be entertained and educated. Any true hip-hop head will be in the house. About the show:
"Floorlore" The History of Hip-Hop
In 1998 the Floorlords came up with a concept of a theatrical production which involved different styles of dance including African, Capoiera, Martial Arts, Meringue and Jazz. They combined these styles of dance with all the elements of hip hop ( MCing, Graffiti, B Boying..B Girling also known as breaking, DJing and Beatboxing) into a one hour performance entitled "Floorlore" The History of Hip Hop. The show is about how all these different styles of dance and cultures are involved in creating the hip hop culture. It also demonstrates how hip hop is a positive culture and not all the negativity that is in the media.
The concept of the show involves different ideas that were put together by all the members of the group who specialize in all these specific art forms. The members at the time were Lino, Lefty, Flex, Archie, Dash, Domino, Flight, Jonathon, Lil Lino, El Nino, Jovi, Yhinny, Heidi, Michelle and Colleen. The show was first performed and sold out in Jan. 1999 at Northeastern University's Blackman Theatre and is still being performed by the group and sold out at universities and theatres all over the country. They have since added Salsa and Tap Dance to the performance. The show has received rave reviews by newspapers and publications in all the cities where it has been performed.
We expect 18 cast members for this show.
