All of the above, if they were people with non-musical day jobs who only rehearsed once a week :)
The Greentop Ramblers have been playing traditional Irish and folk music in the DC area for over 15 years. We grew out of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Silver Spring, Maryland, but since then we have had a few unaffiliated musicians join our ranks. We all love to play music for fun; during the day we're carpenters, computer scientists, lawyers, medical professionals, entomologists, college professors...you get the idea.
In 2005, we released a self-produced CD of our favorites from over the years entitled Caution: Irish Music. It's usually available for purchase at our performances, but please contact us if you are interested in a copy.
Our band is named after Camp Greentop in Catoctin Mountain Park, long-cherished site of UUCSS's annual fall retreat. It's still a place we love to get together to play a little every year. (We've joked that the band should be called "Andrew" because in all its various permutations, it's always been a few different people...and Drew.)
We are happy to play at private parties, as well as local festivals and venues. Some of our past venues include: The New Deal Café
The Colesville Strawberry Festival The Greenbelt Green Man Festival
The CCE DC Irish Festival
