    Green Tree Public Library's Interests
GeneralLibraries are interested in EVERYTHING. We have a whopping 30,000+ items in our collection, meaning that you can find info on nearly any topic.

MusicWe house lots and lots of music: pop, country, show tunes, rap, oldies and so much more. Our library has this mellow music area too:

MoviesIf you like mobster movies, side-splitting comedies, or the latest film releases, you're going to love our varied DVD collection.

TelevisionNo televison here, but we do have books based off of TV series. Also, we own entire seasons of your favorite TV shows on DVD.

BooksOur library has every kind of reading material imaginable: science fiction, Harry Potter fantasy read-alikes, poetry collections, award winning books, cheesy romance novels, how-to guides, westerns, page-turning mysteries, classic literature, true crime stories, kid's lit, cliff notes, gripping memoirs, graphic novels, newspapers, magazines, reference books, audio books, e-books...and everything in between! The librarians follow major trends so they know what kind of stuff you want to read (and what kind of stuff your teachers want you to read too).
HeroesDid you know that Batgirl was a librarian?

   Green Tree Public Library's Blurbs
About me:

We're probably the only public library in the world with funky purple and orange walls.

Located in the Borough of Green Tree, our newly-renovated building is minutes from the razzle dazzle of downtown Pittsburgh. We're a proud member of the Allegheny County Library Association. This means that you can borrow resources from any library in the region. Got a book at the Carnegie? Return it here, no problemo. Talk about service!

On a serious note, the Green Tree Public Library is here to meet all your informational needs. If you've got a quirky question, a horrific homework assignment, or just need a place to chill and check your email, stop in! Our staff is here to help. We're like Walmart people greeters, except we don't give out smiley stickers.

Adaena Tray is the Assistant Librarian; she's the one who organizes events, orders materials for children and young adults, and maintains this myspace profile. (You'll recognize her as the gal with all the eclectic jewelry) Don't hesistate to talk to her if you need ANYTHING...she won't make shooshing sounds!

Library Hours:
Monday through Thursday: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

You can always access the Online Catalog to see what's on our shelves.

Who I'd like to meet:

We want to meet folks from Allegheny County and beyond. If you don't already have a library card, stop in with a photo ID and proof of address. We'll gladly issue you a card, along with a nifty barcode keyring.

Thanks for the add. I hope you’ll check out my new tween novel, GIVING UP THE GHOST, set on a haunted plantation near New Orleans two years after Hurricane Katrina.

It’s my dearest wish that my novel’s themes of fear, grief, and forgiveness, leavened with humor and gripped by a ghostly mystery, will bring comfort and healing to young teens living with uncertainty in unsettling times.

KIRKUS says (9/15/07) it has “teen appeal in spades” and is “a good choice for reluctant readers”!
