   About Greenville Canary
Newly hatched from an egg found nestled within the boughs of a fibre optic tree. Strangely beaked and stubby of wing, our plumage changes by the hour. Ability to fly varies season to season but seems to favour Autumnal winds.

Thankyou kindly, I'm glad you liked! I don't suppose you know of any nice places/people in Manchester who would be into my kind of stuff would you? I'm trying to make my way onto the scene from humble Huddersfield!

The Old Sweet Shop is 1 year old on 2nd December. It has been a fantastic first year and we would like to thank everyone, customers, visitors, friends and artists alike, for their continued support.

We will be having a party to celebrate on Sunday 2nd December from 1pm till 5pm so please come and join us.

A new exhibition will also be starting to coincide with the birthday party. Throughout December an array of artwork by some of our finest local independent artists will adorn the main exhibition wall.

We hope to see you at T.O.S.S. x

Ah yes, that was me probably looking dishevelled and uncoordinated! You should have said hi...although yeah, there's always the risk of being wrong and that's even worse than talking to a stranger in a shop when you're mate's gone off somewhere else and you didn't notice!

I think you should do a Grateful Dead and get Hell's Angel's as security for your next gig before things get out of hand completely... I shall be attending.

Oct 17 2007 7:23 AM

Hey, well as for the picking patterns, i dont know, i think i found my style by just trying and emulate what i have heard. I grew up listening to Cat Stevens and Ani Difranco...a good album to listen to for crazy picking is 'not a pretty girl' by ani difranco...loads of ideas there. And normally i mess about with open tunings, just takes time to get barings with those but you can usually get maximum effect with less faffing because the 'unused' strings act as drones and can sound lovely. Try D-A-D-G-A-D (from lower end up). Thats a common one, then D-A-D-Fsharp-A-D is another nice one...give them a go and tell me what you think!
The Liz Ryder Band

Oct 16 2007 12:17 PM

Hey, yeah good thinking...ummm...i dont know if i could give guitar lessons as i have no known technique and am completely self taught and probably play all wrong...having said that i guesse if you had any Q's i might be able to give you some tips!
The Liz Ryder Band
