To whom it may concern I am writing this letter of disapproval about Assistant Chief Constable Bill Holland and his opinions about motorcyclists and discrimination and demonizing them and suggesting all bikers cause crime and disorder. Saying that bikers are a threat to public safety is very wrong and they pose no threat to public safety. Trying to stop events such as the Bulldog Bash only harm’s the community that also deals with the event losing huge sums of money. Warwickshire Police spent £1.4 million policing last year’s event at Long Marston near Stratford-upon-Avon after losing a bid to have its licence revoked amid fears of reprisals following the murder of biker Gerry Tobin The cash-strapped force has started discussions with the public over how to police the event in August. But Assistant Chief Con Bill Holland said: “My preference would be that Bulldog Bash 2009 does not take place. But if it does go ahead there will be a professional and robust policing operation put in place to protect people from harm in Warwickshire.” It is also wrong to use Gerry Tobin in this way and it must upset his family and the woman he was engaged to and all his friends. He was not killed at the Bulldog Bash event itself. It was after he had left to return home, The Bulldog Bash has been going for so many years without incident, and is now also a celebration of Gerry Tobin’s life and his love of motorcycles. There have been no reprisals or incidents since and I feel that the police have wasted so much tax payer’s money, and the affect that has on the community wasting so much money discriminating and demonizing motorcyclists.
