I love good music. I'm not quite as fond of bad music. Here are some examples of good music: Savatage (aka Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Rush, Linkin' Park, The Vincent Black Shadow, Hinder, Kansas, Evanescence, H Pisces, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, MSG, Three Days Grace, Blues Traveler, Bad Company, Fear Factory, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sweet Comfort Band (no, I know you've never heard of them), Metallica, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Travis Tritt, Bo Bice, Billy Joel (who has never gotten the respect he deserves as a songwriter), Pitchshifter, 3 Doors Down, Adam Ant (no, really), Glenn Miller Orchestra, KJ-52, Queensryche ("Rage For Order" may be, from start to finish, the most perfect album ever), Chevelle, Cherry Poppin' Daddies (It's all about the swing thing!), Disturbed, Chicago, Martina McBride, System of a Down (Mesmerize ROCKS!), Antonin Dvorak (Symphony ..9, "From The New World" is my fave), Elton John, REO Speedwagon, DC Talk, Eminem, Antonio Vivaldi, and about a million other artists that will come to me as soon as I post this. The genre isn't as important to me as the artist's individual talent. I listen to all styles from rock to big band to country to classical. My least favorite is rap, but I have been impressed on occasion there as well. Thanks to the evil plotting of my step-daughter, Jamie, I've even been tricked into liking a coupla *shudders* emo songs. Damn Taking Back Sunday! Hahaha.
So, that's what I'm into. The bigger question is, what music do you like???Movies
As an amateur photographer/videographer, I am very much into the visuals and feel of a movie. I've been told that Road to Perdition is a boring movie. To me, it was a beautiful movie, so how could it be boring? It's like trying to tear your eyes away from a gorgeous woman. Instead, you want to look deeper, to enjoy every aspect, every movement. Or maybe I'm just a failed poet. Or a failed romantic.
A few of my favorite movies are: Signs, The Godfather, The Princess Bride, Rent, Blazing Saddles, Godspell, Get Over It, Noises Off (the funniest movie ever made!), Hot Wet American Summer (A sick movie - it's hilarious!), The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Duel, any pre-2000 Jackie Chan movie (Jackie Chan is a god among men! A really short, incredibly funny, amazingly fast moving god), Batman Begins, Shrek, The Sweetest Thing, It's a Wonderful Life (actually, anything starring Jimmy Stewart), Unforgiven, Down With Love, Braveheart, Clueless, A Christmas Story, and many many more. Nelson Demille's "Night Fall", "Red Storm Rising" by Tom Clancy, "The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice, and Stephen King's "The Stand" are my favorite novels. Since I was a kid, I would read constantly, anything I could get my hands on. Mostly, nowadays, I just read blogs. Stupid internet... I'm also a fan of poetry, most especially edna st. vincent millay, james russell lowell, rudyard kipling & robert frost.Heroes
