   About Greg Arnold
GREG ARNOLD

Greg Arnold has just released his first full studio solo album: Lost Marie. It is a collection of story songs. A cast of the lost, the lonesome, ex-cons and cons to be are wrapped in a blanket of warm melodic acoustica featuring a banjo, a saw, a piano and brass.

When not being Greg Arnold the solo artist, he is the singer-songwriter behind folk rock institution Things of Stone and Wood.

He was APRA songwriter of the Year in 1993.

He has toured Australia and the world since 1992. TOSAW's first two albums The Yearning and Junk Theatre were top ten hits that included some of Greg's most well known songs: the summery Happy Birthday Helen, Rock this Boat, Share this Wine and Wildflowers (one of the most radio played songs of 94).

His song Silent no longer was published as a poem in Rolling Stone.

In 1999 he released the album Super with Tricycle that enjoyed extensive airplay on the ABC.

This year he recorded Close My Eyes for exclusively for the Red Cross with Rob Hirst and Paul Greene. The song has received extensive play in the Asia Pacific region.

He is currently touring with his trio The Lost Marias which features: John Bedggood (Bernard Fanning) on fiddle, mando and piano and Ian Kitney (Tim Rogers) on the drums.

Mr Arnold I presume!

A little birdy told me that you were in town a little while ago! I'm sorry I missed you if this is true, I must have had my head buried in the sand!

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Morgan.

Hi Greg, cheers for checking out my version of your song :) Sounds like you have a lot of exciting things going on down in melbournetown! Though the doctorate does sound scary. Dr Greg I presume!

Up in my corner of the woods I'm about to finish up teaching for the year, 6 weeks off before I start at a new school. Apart from that we're busy with the band gearing for the new album to come out around march next year.

Cheers for the update! See you sometime in the future!

Morgan.

Hey Greg!

Long time no see! Hope everything's travelling well for you in your corner of the world.

I did a quick live studio recording this week of a song you might know, it's called 'The Blue Belonged'. It's up on my myspace right now if you feel like having a listen. One of my favourites, I can't believe I didn't request it back when I had the chance!

Catch you round!

Morgan.

Hi
Thanks for adding me.
Was trying to find Things of Stone and Wood on myspace.
Still love the music and it's just as relevant, potent and good as ever.
Wish you guys would play again even if it was a one off. Enjoyed hearing your newer material too.
Kind regards
Monique

Ahhh lecturing hey? I've often wished I could throw in the high school music teaching to do the uni lecturing. Perhaps one day I'll be learned enough!

Hopefully through some twist of the world I'll be able to get a morgan show to you! They're very worthwhile so I've heard!

See you round the traps!
