BANDS: .. ...... ....At first glance, guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer Greg Bucking can appear like a musical chameleon. Sideman or frontman, producer or live performer, lead guitarist in a funk band or rhythm guitarist in a roots reggae band, singer and songwriter with an acoustic guitar in hand or bandleader for an organ trio, he moves through many roles with comfort and ease. But at the core, all of Greg's music possesses the soulful thread of timeless roots music. He has cultivated this sound for over a decade as a live and studio performer with Mother Freedom, The Scofflaws, Opal Fly, The Jumpers, and many many more. His versatility has enabled him to perform Mississippi blues with David Kimbrough, jazz and afrobeat with Bikhiti Kumalo, and down and dirty funk with Bernie Worrell. .... For the past five years, Greg has been based out of Brooklyn, performing around the city in a wide variety of groups at BB King's, Sullivan Hall, Southpaw, The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, Galapagos Art Space, and Arlene's Grocery, to name a few. He has also toured in many areas of the country at clubs, colleges, casinos, and festivals such as Mohegan Sun, Make Music New York, The New York City Marathon, Harmony Park Harvest Festival (MN), Mulberry Mountain Harvest Festival (AR), and The Van's Warped Tour at Randall's Island (NY). .... Greg's original songs and creative input have appeared on CD releases from Mother Freedom, Broken Carousel, Opal Fly, Pandhora, and The Scofflaws. He is constantly writing and producing, and is currently working on a new original CD of upbeat acoustic roots music. .. ......
