MUSICIANS NEEDED:
We are looking for a drummer ,Bass player, steel player and harmony singer for the band " Overdrive " so we will be ready to record a new cd and be booked at least three nights a week. We play country, old country, 60's rock, blues, and some bluegrass. The band Overdrive consists of myself, my daughter, and my brother. I play lead guitar and sing the lead vocals. My daughter sings lead vocals/harmony. My brother plays rhythm guitar. My brother and I formed this band 2 years ago. We are trying to put together a band who is committed to playing and working atleast 3 nights a week, plus recording in the studio. We are looking for people who want to take this seriously, because we are in the process of talking to 3 record labels about a deal. My last CD is currently being played on 3 radio stations. Influences
My influences have been Rick Nelson, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Waylon, Gene Watson, Bob Seger, John Fogerty, Flat and Scruggs. The Unknown Hinson, Dan Seals, and Mel Mcdaniel, Russell Smith. My favorite guitar player is Danny Baker.
Sounds Like
throw in some Country, add a little blues, just a touch of bluegrass and a taste of old rock n roll and you have " OVERDRIVE "
Greg Carmack has been singing honky tonks for the past twenty years. Now the band only plays family shows and dances. Greg has played with the late Johnny Russell at tootsies orchard lounge in Nashville and has played for Don Wayne, writer of country bumpkin. Greg was best friend of the late Kendall Hayes who wrote the classic country song " walk on by ". He has songs with combine music in Nashville. His band consists of him and his daughter Shelly doing vocals. They still believe in the old country of Merle, Jones, and waylon. Shelly does the new stuff.
