About me:
Guitarist & lifelong horror movie geek, originally from San Francisco, now living in the San Diego area. Played with the Steve Miller band (I co-wrote & played guitar on the song "Jungle Love"), Eddie Money Van Morrison, Greg Kihn, Hot Tuna, and tons of other people. (Check out my website at www.gregdouglass.com). I live with my gorgeous wife, a nutritionist, and my two obnoxious cats in a great house next to a lake. I am an unbelievably lucky bastard.)I collect old horror movie posters, teach guitar, and continue to tour with various bands, and I probably have naked pictures of your mom from my days as a rock star. I also teach guitar in the North County area of San Diego, if you're so inclined. (I also have two instructional DVDs available from http://www.iconsofrock.com, one on lead guitar, and one on fingerstyle guitar.)
I presently work with several groups, including one of San Diego's top corporate bands, The Fabulous Pelicans, The Monsters of Classic Rock (an "all-star" band featuring Joey Molland (Badfinger) on vocals & guitar, Carmine Rojas (David Bowie, Rod Stewart)on bass, Terry Ilous (from 80s metal monsters XYZ) on lead vocals, and a stellar group of various drummers, including Carmine Appice, Chris Slade of AC/DC, & Donny Baldwin of the Starship), and Mo Wasabi, an all instrumental group doing an eclectic mixture of everything from surf music to "Layla". I have also been gigging with 60s supergroup The Electric Flag with Nick Gravenites. We recently played at the 40th anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival; taking the late, great Mike Bloomfield's spot on that historic stage was a moment in my career I'll never forget! With all this electric stuff on my plate paying the bills, my REAL love is acoustic fingerstyle & slide guitar. Nothing beats the sound of one guitar playing both rhythm & melody at the same time (it is, as Jorma Kaukonen once said to me, "A sound not unpleasing to the human ear."). I have two solo CDs available, THE NATIVES ARE RESTLESS and a Christmas collection, HOLIDAY CLASSICS, both available at the aforementioned www.gregdouglass.com. I do several gigs/weddings a year as a solo player (I'm a spectacularly crappy singer, so I play instrumentals out of self-defense) and also play out occasionally as an acoustic duo with Pete Harrison on guitar as well. It's a good life.

Who I'd like to meet:
Eric Clapton, Howard Stern (a song I co-wrote, "She Farts When She Comes", was recently played on the Stern show. It was a career-defining moment.)
