   About Greg Downs

My book of short stories, Spit Baths, won the Flannery O'Connor Award and will be published in October by the University of Georgia Press. My main myspace page is here.at www.myspace.com/gregorydowns

My "official" web page is www.gregdowns.net.

That's where you'll find all the boring details. This one is mostly for storing the sound files of readings that I give. The three up now are from a show broadcast on WXPN 88.5 FM.

The book is available for pre-order on Amazon.

I also have an in-progress Amazon author's page.

Why oh why can't you come to read in Toronto so shameless fans such as I could come?

Though I suppose if I were truly shameless, I would be at your reading today...

Thanks so much for the add, Greg, and for your mail. I will have to sort out the web thing. It is, perhaps, jealous of myspace and thus playing evil women games and refusing to work.
:-)

Looking forward to knowing you more.

Congratulations-I feel a fanatstic mixture of pride & envy (more pride though). Can't wait to read it. I've never been an autograph seeker (haven't sought one since Rhett Miller ruined my copy of Too Far to Care) but like Tommy, I would be honored to have yours on my copy of your book.

Does Diane share your sentiments on her size?

looking forward to the literary tour this Fall...Barnes and Noble will never hear such 'hootin' and hollerin'' again....looking forward to bringing embarassing behavior to book sellers throughout the land accompanied by the usual motley crew of 'friends'...can you concentrate on shops w/ liberal BYOB policies?...thanks.

I am very impressed with the technology--and hearing you read. You do have an excellent voice. I am torn between listening all the way through and waiting for the book. I don't want to ruin the discovery of reading Spit Baths for the first time.

Hey Greg-

I just got your friend request and I thought, doesn't Greg know that we are already friends?

But no, it's a brand new page.
That's terrific the way you have uploaded your stories. I will take some time soon to listen.
