Greg has been doing session work, touring and writing innovative compositions on the bass since the age of fourteen. Having began on piano at the age of five, Greg studied theory throughout High School and later on at the College of Creative Studies in Santa Barbara. Though bass is his main instrument, Greg writes
compositions utilizing his skills on Guitar and Piano as well.
You can hear his playing from top studios, as well as local bands, from L.A., Santa Barbara and San Francisco. Recent engagements have landed Greg at venues from NYC to SF. Greg's current projects include his collective Cyclomatic, the new Electric Jazz-funk band Dynamo Jones, Mission Players and playing sideman with a variety of acts in the Bay Area. Greg is versed in Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock, Soul, Latin, Pop, Folk and Classical. He likes to incorporate many styles to add just the right groove to a wide range of material.
Greg's had the opportunity to share the bill with many exceptional musicians such as Garaj Mahal, Papa Mali, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Motet, The Mother Hips, Fareed Haque Group, Tower of Power, Kenny Wayne Shephard, John Lee Hooker and Martin Fierro.
