When Greg Griffin began playing guitar, he couldn’t decide if he wanted to be the next Stevie Ray Vaughan or the next James Taylor. He turned out to be neither. Instead, you’ll find a thoughtful singer songwriter infused with the passion of a blues singer. Playing guitar since the age of 16, his influences range from Eric Clapton and Van Morrison to Tom Petty and Lyle Lovett.
Greg was chosen for the field of 64 artists in CMT’s 2007 Music City Madness video competition, where online votes propelled him into the final 16 in the country. A portion of his video was also included in a TV special about the contest. Greg was featured in an artist showcase presented by the Charlotte Music Awards, and in March of 2008 he appeared on Fox News Rising, the local Charlotte morning show on Fox 18.
