GREGG SWAN

Bio:

****** GreggSwan is a unique & talented musician that has shown a fascination with the guitar from a very young age, making them out of cardboard and rubber bands until finally, at the age of 13, his dad, Marshall bought him his 1st guitar. It was a pawn shop special and Gregg was fascinated with it, and practiced constantly. Gregg spent a lot of time playing in teen bands, high school bands, and in the church on sunday! Just about anywhere he could. (back in his hometown of ToledoOhio that is) With his mom Sara's help, Gregg finally managed to get a really serious guitar and started taking his playing to the next level, including playing with Shirley Murdock, who went on to become a staple of Roger Troutman and ZAPP, and sang on the (computer love) recording, among countless others. One of Greggs fondest memories occured when he was a young player performing at a show where Carlos Santana was performing in the adjacent arena, subsequently, Carlos and the boys came over after their show and did a couple of songs with G's band, and Carlos even played on Greggs guitar! (G has always been inspired by the spiritual connection found in Carlos's playing and encompasses a very spiritual approach in his playing as well) While in Toledo, Gregg has played with many great musicians, including Brian Lee, Jr Springs, JerryJones, TonyMiller, Jerry Holden, and many other great players, including Scott Henderson, one of the worlds hottest jazz fusion guitarists, who Gregg has shared many late nite jam sessions with. Gregg also played with "tiger"Tony Nicholas, the late Gerald leverts producer, who wrote hits for Gerald & many other artitsts, including "practice what you preach", for Barry White. After touring the country and performing with several bands, including a tour of Taiwan with Gerald Foster, Gregg also spent time performing with legendary bassist, DanyelMorgan, who is currently bassist & nunber 1 man with blues/funk Ikon, RobertRandolph &theFamilyBand. Gregg is currently preparing to release his 1st solo CDproject, in which Gregg has written, produced, engineered and performed all parts. The disc also features some of Greggs unique and characteristic GuitarSynth work! So let your hair down and come take a ride with GreggsfunkyMind!!...
