    ..........Gregory M. GUIDRY was born in 1954, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. Greg GUIDRY, a mulit-talented singer-songwriter-pianist who placed 2 A.C./A.O.R. hit singles in the US Pop Charts in 1982, one of which Goin' Down, reached the Top 20. Greg GUIDRY began singing Gospel as a child (with his sisters and family). By the time Greg was in his teenage years, he had taken piano lessons, and had started playing and singing in local bands through high school and college. He also joined some rock bands in Saint-Louis, playing with a good friend named Michael McDONALD. ...... In 1977, he signed a deal with CBS Songs Publishing. Greg started writing songs and played with various bands at that time. In 1981, he found work as a background singer in the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND's Brothers Of The Road (for Arista Records). His songs were used on albums by such great artists like Climax Blues Band, England Dan & John Ford Coley, Robbie DuPree, EXILE, Johnny Taylor. ...... Greg Guidry signed to Columbia Records in 1982 and released his first solo LP ..OVER THE LINE.. that year. ..OVER THE LINE ..was one of the finest A.O.R. LP of the '80s, featuring David Hungate (TOTO), Dan Huff, Bobby LaKING, David Sanborn, William Page, Dennis Henson (FOOLS GOLD)... John Ryan was his producer....... The single ..Goin' Down,.. also written by Greg, was taken from the album and reached ..17 in the US Top 40 (also number 10 on Radio & Records Pop Charts and number 10 on Radio and Records Adult Contemporary Charts). Only one follow-up single Into My Love (a duet with his sister Sandy), made the Charts. During the '80s, Greg worked a lot as a songwriter (in particular for EMI Music Publishing), and collaborating with songwriters like Bill LaBounty and leading backing vocalist for the Contemporary Christian Music scene in The U.S.A. (for bands like JAG, WHITEHEART). He also had his own publishing company called "Send Us Music, Inc."...... Greg worked with a lot of artists: The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, Johnny Cobb, Charlie Daniels, Keith England, David Goldflies, Randall Hart, Dennis Henson, Mike Lawler, Joy Lannon, Marguerite Luciani, Joe Pizzulo, John Ryan, Jeff Silverman, Dan Toler, David Frankie Toler, Butch Trucks, Chip Young and many more.......
