They were saying it was a predators playground, but when I checked it out I found out it was just a cool place to get together with friends. So, I figured, what the hell. Im in. Just for the record, I am not a weirdo. You might know who I am. I had a handful of hits back in the 80s (including The Breakup Song and Jeopardy) I toured the world, appeared on Saturday Night Live, opened for the Stones, made tons of videos and helped MTV get off the ground back in 83. It was a hell of a run. But, all things come to an end. By the end of the decade, the hits stopped coming and I had to clean up and get a life. I reinvented myself. I started writing novels and was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award. I wrote and published four novels and a bunch of short stories. Check them out. Theres more on the way. Someday, Ill make them all into movies. I started my broadcasting career in rock radio in 1995. For the past 10 years Ive been doing the morning show on 98.5 KFOX in San Jose, Ca. Now, Im going into syndication. My new show is called Big Rock Beat and its on everyday at www.gregkihn.com This is a whole new world for me, and I plan to explore every inch of it. Im having a ball. There is life after rock and roll! Im living proof. Yes, the Greg Kihn Band still plays, still kicks ass and takes names. My son Ry plays lead guitar and hes unbelievable. Im just not saying that because Im his dad, this kid rips. His first guitar teacher was Joe Satriani (who was in my band at the time). Hes a Cal Arts graduate with a guitar degree. So, with all this stuff going on, youd think Id run out of gas, but its the opposite! Ive got a load of ideas from movies to songs to TV shows to writing the great American novel. I guess I should keep pumping the old creative gristmill before the juice runs out. Why not? Life is good. It took me all this time to figure things out. And that brings us to here and now. I guess my main message is that you can do whatever you set your mind to. Ive done it a couple of times. Dont listen to the negative comments around you, just keep trying. Believe in yourself. Remember, everybodys good at something. Follow your dreams and dont give up. Lets rock!

There are no words that can adequately describe it. Simply put, it is the saddest thing in the world. Her suffering finally ends, but the questions go on. Why? A young girl at the peak of life, when all the world should be nothing but opportunities, taken from us. It seems so senseless, so unfair. But, as we should all know by now, life is, at its very essence, unfair. Maybe God planned it that way, I don’t know. As for Brianna, she didn’t want to die, she fought death with every fiber of her being, right up until the end. When we got the word.... ..     Looking for something to do this weekend ? At 8:00p.m. on Saturday September 19th, 2009 at The Pizza Factory (926 South Main St. in Salinas by Salinas High School) The Sledge Grits Band will be having the most energetic, insane concert we have ever had to end our summer tour and say thank you to Monterey County for helping us make our Wise Music Summer Tour a success ! 46 shows, appearances, and performances- It was a fun 3 months and thanks to you, we were voted Monterey Weekly’s “County’s Best Underage Band 2009”- Thank you. Salinas “Battle of the Bands ’09” winner DEMO will also be performing to open the show for us ! There will be an acoustic guitar that will be raffled off that has been donated by Wise Music- the proceeds geaux towards sponsoring, helping out us with food and gas, as we continue our journey being the next ones known out of Monterey County- John Steinbeck, Vanessa Hudgens, and now hopefully us !There will be 50 “Thank you for the last 1 1/2 years Monterey County !” gift bags to the first 50 people in the door. There is a $5 cover but, we will be giving $1 admission back for every person you bring over 25 people plus you and your family will get in FREE ! Our newest zydeco influenced composition “Open Road” has now finally been made complete thanks to our newest instrument sent to the band by Key of Z
    bo-Pah’s newest drum kit toy that was sent to her by HiShaker will be unveiled.This will be our last big party in Salinas/ Monterey for some time. We had to clear our schedule for the producers we’re working with in L.A. seaux we can continue working on developing our t.v. show, record, etc. If you’ve been meaning to come to a T.S.G.B. show for a while, please come out and support us now- you may not be able to see us for $5 again ! You know us- seaux It will be family friendly and fun for all ages. Bring all the kids to Rock Out and dance, they like concerts, too ! There will be food and drinks available at an additional fee.
