“Greg is a child of The Smiths who loves the E Street Band. Catchy, slamming songs.” – Stereophile magazine
“East Anglia’s Springsteen. These feelings are transcribed so genuinely they convey yearnings deeper and fuller than anyone else today. All songwriters are full of genuine emotion, whether simmering hate or pent up love, but mostly the words dribble from their pathetic mouths, ending up as wet and soppy as a burst balloon. These songs are so good simply because Greg can articulate his deepest feelings to you in so few words.” - Tom King, REPEAT
“Very mellow and atmospheric. I like it.” – Zita, Z Management
“The arrangements of the words and the meter are brilliant. Manages to be clever without being glib, and I’m jealous. Really really good.” - Matt Abysmal, The Resistance

“I went to The Barfly on Sunday, intending to watch Carina Round, who I’ve heard a lot about over the years. First on was Greg McDonald who I did a few gigs with back in the day. I remember the first time I saw The Dawn Parade really clearly - there Greg was in make up, wearing a vest with an ammunition belt printed across it, with a plastic rose hanging off his wrist, throwing shapes in the middle of a crowd of enthusiastic teenagers, playing these incredibly evocative stadium sized songs. The band were on fire and all excellent at what they were doing. I loved it. My ears were ringing for days. I saw them quite a lot over the next couple of years, and pretty much always loved it. Everything falls apart in the end though. He did a lot of new stuff on Sunday (which is good, check out the myspace), but threw one Dawn Parade song in at the end. It actually brought a tear to my eye.” – Paul Goodwin
