Gregorio Bardini

Bio:

Gregorio Bardini was born in 1966 in Ostiglia (MN), Italy. He studied flute at the „Arrigo Boito“ Conservatory in Parma with Mauro Scappini and did graduate work in ethnomusicology at University in Bologna (dissertation: „Music and sciamanism in Eurasia“). Bardini received further artistic impulses at the master classes with Severino Gazzelloni, Andras Adorjan, Maxance Larrieu, Peter-Lukas Graf, Janos Balint and for the composition with Sylvano Bussotti. He played as flutist classic and contemporary music in the most important cities of Italy and in Austria, Iceland and Greece and collaborated with several musicians like Tuxedo moon, Savage Republic, Steve Piccolo and Tony Wakeford. Bardini recorded several album with his compositions and in collaboration with other musicians: -Eurasia -Arx -Föhn -Komitas -Sezione aurea (with Paolo Longo) -The cosmik milk (with Carlo Cantini) -Ballate arcadiche (with Davide Bortolai and Giuseppe Santini) -La casa del custode (with the poet Alberto Cappi) -Sentinelle del mattino -Ballate lombarde (with Davide Bortolai and Giuseppe Santini) - Arise of a bleeding rose (with Gerstein). As musicologist he writed in 2006 a book concerning the life and the work of Komitas, the famous armenian musician. Since 1999 Bardini is professor at the Vivaldi Institute of Music in Bolzano, Italy.
