i have walked through this world, and i have journeyed inward i have warmed in the light of all things, and i have known the cold that is found in the heart of darkness... i have listened intently to the words of those most pious, and i have nursed from the breast of depravity... i have seen clearly, and i have stumbled in confusion i have laughed without end, and i have cried without hope i have given life, and i have taken life i have reveled in wealth, and i have starved in poverty i have learned from the greatest books and minds, and i have seen the folly in the vanity of intellect i have known adulation and victory, and i have known isolation and defeat i have known what it is to find, and i have known what it is to have lost and i tell you this... i have seen no fortune, nor wisdom, nor pleasure greater than...love. "Into The Strange"
(markel)
We are the light, we are the fire of the sun
We are the rivers of the marrow, that carry us all, on and on
through the rage around us....
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
I feel the movement, I feel the pressure flow
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
I'm more than one but I feel so alone
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
It reaches out for me, and I can't say no
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
We are the fight, we are the fury of our will
We are the sound of the marauders breaking down walls,
as we search for the proof of...Our true selves
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
I feel the movement, I feel the pressure flow
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
I'm more than one but I feel so alone
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
It reaches out for me, and I can't say no
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
As we are made of pain, as we are made of joy,
as we are made of flight, as we are all made of......LIGHT.
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
I feel the movement, I feel the pressure flow
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
I'm more than one but I feel so alone
Into the Strange
Into the Strange
It reaches out for me, and I can't say no
Into the Strange

www.gregorymarkel.com, known to fans as ..The Voice.. due to his extraordinarily emotive 4+ octave range.
A soulful, progressive, widely dynamic and explosive singer prone to sudden Sufi singer Nusrat Ali Khan-like caterwauls, Markel who has been compared by the press to some of the greatest singers of our time including Bono, Jeff Buckley and Robert Plant.
Principal writer of of the songs "Strong As I Am", a child's message to his parents, and "Ghost Beside My Bed", based on an actual event, Markel's music has been heard the world over via radio, television and DVD. "Strong As I Am" first charted within The BBC Top 20 and was then chosen personally by director Michael Mann for his cult classic "Manhunter." The song's message of child/parent forgiveness and reconciliation strikes a universal chord in fans the world over and continues generating fans 20 years later via the film and many fan comments and blogs throughout the web.
"Ghost Beside My Bed," produced by Tony Berg, went 1 on Rock Radio in 1991 in many states in the U.S. and top 30 nationally. The song, with its Radiohead and Pink Floyd like properties and mixed by legendary mixer/producer Bob Clearmountain, (Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and others), stood in profound contrast to the radio fare that year.
Hey you! Dave mentioned something about bribing him with a Devo song lol. I'm so glad to hear you will be attending my birthday bash! It's been ages since I've seen you!
Its bassplayer Marc from Denmark here.. We meet like 8 years ago - or something like that.. remember? We only to play one show together and record some songs ..I remember one of them we did a kind of busy "string"-role for a bassline - I'm really curious to hear that song - I've thought of that song many time since.. Did you ever finished that one ? Anyway I like to hear it if possible??
It's really good to see that you still are around! I still love your voice!
