About Gregory Leone

If a New-age, oldskool, prototypical Artist exists today, it is Gregory Leone. His heritage bleeds "Art". Gregory's Great, Great Grandparents were the clothing designers for Italy's Royal family during the early 1800's as well as musicians. After migrating from Italy in the early 1900's, Gregory's great grandparents established The Leone School of Music in Long Island, New York. This set the stage for a life in music and Art! Gregory, Born in Brooklyn, New York, began Music Theory, ear training and classical piano by age 4. By the age of 9 Gregory started classical guitar lessons, electric bass lessons and started to self teach drums and percussion. At 13 years of age Greg turned down a scholarship to Art and Design in New York City to further pursue studies in music. During this time Greg started lessons with musical prodigy Ron Thal. Greg also started, what he refers to as, Spiritual Vocal Training from world-renowned vocal instructor Katie Agresta. Some of Katies other students are Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, Phoebe Snow, Carole King, Sophie B. Hawkins, Jon Bon Jovi, The Hooters, Connie Francis, Joe Jackson, Peter Frampton, Lenny Kravitz, Bob Seger, Lita Ford, Jackson Browne, Mike Broccolli, Beastie Boys, The Turtles, Dee Lite, Dee Snyder, Meatloaf, Gregory Leone and many others. Greg then started his first band, Screaming Broccolli & The Mud Worms. After several years of success and hundreds of gigs with Screaming Broccolli, Greg felt unbalanced and spiritually unfulfilled. He needed to head in a different direction musically, so he left Broccolli and went on to write & record songs for his first album as a solo artist which he wrote, produced, engineered and performed entirely by himself. The name of the album is Chandelier. 8 of the 10 Songs from Chandelier are posted on this Myspace page.
