right now, a little bit folk, a little bit country. Check out "Winter" - a new version featuring Pam Berry recorded for London PopFest 2009. New 7" out now on WIAIWYA (UK) and Slumberland (US).
I grew up on the northern edge of the London basin, and now live a little further towards the source of the River Thames (known locally as the Isis when it’s passing through our patch) in Oxford. I’ve been making music for several decades now, sometimes in bands, sometimes solo. People like to remember Razorcuts, who made a bunch of records in the mid-Eighties. I’m very fond of The Carousel too, and my last gang in town, Sportique. I’ve always been of the independent persuasion. I’ve made records for Creation, Flying Nun UK, Sarah Records, The Subway Organisation, WIAIWYA, Matinee, Cosmic English Music and one or two others in my time. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of my all time favourite people, not least Rose Melberg, Amelia Fletcher, Pam Berry, Sir Mark Flunder and the ubiquitous Peter Momtchiloff, to name but a few. I seem to sing about the seasons a lot, and love & loss too. I like folk music, and country music, and healthy counter cultures. I like things to be authentic. I’m with Phil Ochs on that.

Hi Gregory, Thank you so much for allowing us onto your page. I know you must get this all the time, but The Razorcuts meant the world to me back in the day. 'Brighter Now' and 'The Last Picture Show', in particular, are two songs that I cannot imagine my life without. They helped soundtrack the greatest days of my youth....something I hope to write about in my Blog sometime soon.
