i do think that seattle is ready to rock back onto the scene. For the past year i have been talking about this with musicians and promoters.
i have been working on th Seattle Music Scene series for the last year; painting original oils on canvas of Hendrix, Cobain, Mia Zapata... part of the series is The 27 Club. The visionary art scene here in seattle, the galleries and such, have not been real supportive of my work. i think they are afraid of it. i am commited though and will keep painting until they let me show the series, as painfull it may be to some of the viewers...it is time that seattle start the healing process.
The deaths of many of seattles music pioneers did quiet things down around here, but i do believe there is a revival on the horizon! i think the energy is here and seattle will put out there a whole new sound that will explode liken to the grunge era.
Thanks for the add - Just finished the Tommy Bolin book.I'm a guitar player who has loved Tommy since the mid/late 80's, and the book was very helpful in filling in some holes I have always wondered about.
Great book. Thanks for helping to keep Tommy Bolins music and story alive. Us long time listeners sure will welcome a new generation of fans aboard. Peace.
