| Music | I like my music as I like my east-end gangsters, hard and heavy. Got a bit of a penchant for metallic hardcore (As I Laying Dying, Hatebreed, God Forbid) but not the soft-end emo shizzle, I'm talking proper meat and potatoes. Most types of metal get me pumped, some goes for hardcore. I like BIG sounds, so when bands team up with an orchestra I quite often like it (Virgin Black, Nightwish). More recently I've showed a little more of my soft side by venturing into art/indie rock (Dweeb, Gogol Bordello) and a few singer-songwriter types. And for anyone who is bored/disappointed by the standard forms of worship music, check out The Glorious Unseen or David Crowder Band. | | Movies | Hard to nail a top 5 or the like but I've certainly got a big soft spot for thrillers, especially dystopic thrillers and politically charged dramas. Any Kubrick, Scorcese, Boyle, Coppola or Tarantino movie should hit the spot. | | Television | I used to watch (and listen to) a stupid amount of comedy. So you can probably work out the list from there. Tend to prefer the less mainstream stuff though. A good meaty documentary works a treat too. However, all I seem to watch these days is DVDs and the odd bit of Newsnight. | | Books | I really don't read all that much, I do want to but for some reason I'd much rather read The Times or Independant. However, of the few books I have read I was really challanged and/or entertained by Velvet Elvis, Clockwork Orange, Dead Men Walking, The Coma and (of course) the Bible. | | Heroes | There is no-one on earth that really fits the bill. |
