THIS MYSPACE HAS HARDLY BEEN TOUCHED SINCE THE AUTUMN OF 2007, ROUGHLY WHEN I STOPPED PODCASTING ... IN FACT PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING COMEDY-RELATED. NONETHELESS, THIS IS WHAT IT SAID WHEN I LEFT IT:
I like to rip into and make light of recent news events. You could call it Unconstructive Criticism ... so I did. Andy Kind and I write a podcast by that name. It follows on from a similar kind of thing I did with Dan Watkin.
In fact Dan and I came damn close to getting a pilot on BBC7, through BBC Talent's recent Witty and Twisted scheme, making it to the last 40. It was my second flirtation with BBC Talent, after making it to a regional heat of their stand-up competition a few years back. More recently I made the last 30 of a Channel 4 Talent scheme called Gags to Go.
I did do a bit of the owd stand-up, but it was on a fairly sporadic basis. I wrote my first sitcom last summer and I'm now working on another this summer. Dan and I had an ill-fated attempt as a double-act. We were too inexperienced at the time and are still unlikely to try it again.
Dan and I have also written a lot of sketch comedy, including our entry on BBC Soup and a sketch that was on The Milk Run on Radio 1 and a sketch on a show for Channel 4 Radio. We've also had sketches performed on various stage shows from up in Edinburgh to down in Brighton.
Recently finished my MA in Broadcast Journalism too.
But all this is nothing, unless you realise that you can ...
