The Greg Stott Band has just recorded it's debut album (release date Jun 14, 07). It features John Mackey (sax), Wayne Kelly (keys), Jason Varlet (bass) and Mark Sutton (drums).
Greg is a guitarist based in the ACT. In 1998 Greg graduated from the ANU with a Masters degree and since then has been teaching there in the Jazz Department. He also teaches contemporary music at the Music Industry Centre (MIC) at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT).
Greg has worked as both a sideman and musical director for a number of Australian acts as well as doing international supports, including Dionne Warwick and Shirley Maclaine, and performances at major festivals such as the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. He performs regularly with other members of the Jazz faculty and runs his own groups that cover a wide range of genres including Jazz, Flamenco & Latin styles, Soul, Funk and original jazz/fusion music.
