Maybe you'll be an answer this month too. Come on down this Thursday!
SECTION TWO: PAST NAME-THAT-TUNERS (10 POINTS) Having a live act do Name-That-Tune is what sets us apart from other trivia nights and keeps broke regulars bitching about the $5.00 pay-to-play price. If you weren't here, you can still answer them as long as you know a little something about local music. If not, you're screwed. 11. Whiter than white hiphop group whose MC's Dr Cliff Mixtable and Optimus Rhyme did monitorless 70's karaoke for Name-That-Tune. 12. Countryrock power trio fronted by the Shaddox brothers, who also played Musical Pursuit a second time with friends from the Barnacles as allstar group The Mad Libs. 13. Piano virtuoso and two-time SD Music Award nominee (as a solo singer and member of SD Beat Organization) who used to sneak into hotels to play their pianos when she was lacking one. 14. Overrated altcountrypowerpop group who were photographed with the San Diego Chicken for the cover of SD Music Matters Magazine. 15. 60's styled group fronted by Bart Mendoza that grew out of 80's mod act Manual Scan. 16. Lead optigan player in Optigonally Yours and curator of Whistle Stop's Found Film Jam. 17. World famous mashup DJ now living in SD whose well-known "Whistler's Delight" (combining famous songs with whistling) we used for Name-That-Tune. 18. America's favorite lounge singer, holding court weekends at Imperial House. 19. White haired one-man synthpop act seen selling DVD's at Comic Con and playing Nick Rhodes in a local Duran Duran tribute act. 20. Cover Me Badd act that combined metal with the songs of Depeche Mode, the Cure and the Smiths.

"there no excuse for war except of course bitterness which is always good for a stagnation or two" and thats what we live in-- a Stag-Nation...i've got a weapon of mass-CONstruction (my guitar) and i'm going to stop the world in its foolish tracks. Below is a visual mantra and if you click on it you will be transported to a land of truth, bliss, and freedom. peace.
.."
"let there be no more war"
it's so funny, this little conundrum,
which warring folks and those who support their primary function,
repeatedly drone on: "god made the world to be this way,
so who's to say, what wrong or right?" they say...
apparently they think they are
the chosen ones to carry uzis,
claiming the ultimate power to take life,
and all in the name of Allah or Jesus...
to put it simply, war is private mourning
sublimated into public vengeance
and if you could REALLY forgive your enemies
there'd be no more war,
so why don't you come to your senses?
yes and who's to accept the circumstances as they are ?
I ask with solemn deference
while riding in your car
looking up the stars...
cause if you could could really forgive existence
and accept that death is always here
then this fucked-up cycle of vengeance would
finally disappear...
there never was a borderline
there never was a spoken truth
there only was this consciousness
uniting all in the same root
so i don't care what country you're from
i don't care what name you call god
if you could really forgive
there'd be no more war
o let there be no more war.
