"Isabel lay naked in the bed, her arms folded across her chest, staring blankly at the ceiling. The dust in the room hovered within an eerie stillness as the sounds of the street filtered in from the open window. The events of the past week had taken their toll and the marks of strain were evident. A year ago Isabel travelled to the city looking for work and the excitement it offered. Her life up to that point had been spent in the diner in the small town where she grew up and her dreams of becoming successful in the city started to take place not long after her 23rd birthday. Her letters, which she lovingly penned home, were abundant with the glow of one who has found their place in life but soon after, the letters stopped."
"The police were cataloguing everything in her room from the needles that were scattered around to the smashed lamp and the dirt under her fingernails. Soon the coroner would arrive and Isabel could then continue her final journey…"
