  • Music

    Music moves me. Personal preferences (LA Stations); KROQ, lite on the KYSR(Star), KMZT (K-Mozart), JackFM, local KSBR (Saddleback College). Especially ROQ of the '80s online. Alternative (Staind, Linkin Park, Cold Play, Offspring, RHCP, No Doubt, etc., 80s (depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo, Police), Adult Alternative (Sarah Mclachlan, Liz Phair, Sheryl Crow, Sting, Dave Matthews, etc.) Jazz Standards (Glenn Miller, Ellington), Classical symphonic (Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, etc.), Film Scores (John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Basil Poledoris, Hans Zimmer, etc.), musical theater. Anything in-between is usually ok at least, if not something I'd buy. Anything that glorifies a lifestyle that I can't relate to or wouldn't want my kids relating to is out (I'm looking at you gangsta rap).
  • Movies

    As a fan of fantasy books, I like to see a good honest fantasy movie treatment. Read; LOTRs good, Dragonheart bad. Conan The Barbarian good, Red Sonja bad. :) I also dig anything by Tim Burton, especially if Danny Elfman is doing the music.

    Otherwise, I generally am pretty easy in a movie. Feed me all the mass-market explosions and stupid-plots movies you want. I'll root for the good guys and cheer when the bad guys are dead. I'll even stomach a girlie movie if the wife is in the mood.

    As a father of 3 children, I prefer Pixar's and Dreamwork's stuff over Disney's, although Disney classics are still classics. Strange to mention this maybe, but people with kids will understand that the number of non-kid movies you watch as a parent drops DRAMATICALLY. So I have to go with what I know.

    Bill Cosby's "Himself" is essential watching for parents

    My current favorite movie of all time is "Hook". I am the Pan.

    I am also a casual fan of Anime. Looking to collect the original "Gatchaman" series on DVD ("Battle of the Planets" or "G-Force" were the American versions we saw as kids), and thinking about the original "GoLion" ("Voltron") and "Macross" ("Robotech").

  • Television

    TV exists for football. Other than that I find a few things that are worth my time on the ol' idiot box; "24", "Penn and Teller's Bull**it", "Jimmy Kimmel Live".

Change Congress

Currently in pursuit of Truth, Love, Happiness, and the Meaning of Life. Think I have my finger on it if I could just read my own writing. :)

I am a normal person with normal sensibilities. I do not party, I am not hip hop, and most likely not as "cool" as you. I like beautiful people, good friends, and great conversation. Integrity, self-respect, and sincerity are more important to me than fitting in.

Proud father of two daughters and a son.

Married to an incredible woman who is my best friend. She supports me, even when it's inconvenient for her. She encourages me to be better, even when it's inconvenient for me. She does all the work and takes little of the credit. She stands beside me while I pursue my highest good, and all the while knows that if I'm able to reach a summit, it was her that helped lift me. She has done more for me than I can ever express in words, songs, poems, cards, anedotes, analogies or gifts, and generally doesn't realize she did a thing. No one compares to her, no one will ever equal her, and no one could ever replace her in my life.

I am the head of a small IT department which means I work with computers; midrange systems, servers, networking, PCs, dumb-terminals, printers, backup-systems, programming, support, project planning, website, etc. If it beeps, hums or blinks I do it. I am also a sound tech for a local Unity church, as well as their resident PC tech and webmaster.

My passion is performing. I'm a singer, actor, and--sometimes--musician and every chance I get I perform whatever show Gallimaufry is putting on. I have spoken at Unity a few times (including this coming Mother's Day 2007) so I suppose I can add public speaker to that list now as well.

I try to be a positive force in the world. Interested in teachings from many different places.

Occasionally I get a craving for High School chums and such. Fortunately with a good salve and a sturdy rasp, it generally goes away...

I didn't originally join to meet people (thanks to CotoNormal), but I have met a few people (including some old friends) that have made the stay worth it.

I love people and I love new experiences. I love new situations and the feeling of being "outside my comfort zone" that new people generally bring. I am a FIRM believer in networking as a means to finding your highest good and yourself. I value and cherish my friends as my extended family. And there's always room for more. Willing to meet anyone at this point, but I ask you please send me a message or two first before you send a Friend request. Sorry, just trying to keep the Friend list limited to people I actually talk to. I have AIM, Yahoo, and MSN screen names if anyone likes to KIT that way. I'm generally unwilling to pimp bands unless I know them. I have deactivated MySpace's IM feature because it never works.
