From the beginning the band stuck out of the usual scope through their extraordinary sound arrangements, through the performance of the Sick Sisters, and through Mister A.s charismatic voice.
GriffonVox is Electronic Wave with powerful analogue drum lines, layered by Ambient and Ritual elements.
Sound quality, Psycho-Acoustic
GriffonVox employs for their production as well as for life-performance a high quality of sound. Thus, the music contains also psycho-acoustic sounds that have the capacity to reach deeper, more subconscious layers of sense perception. Thus, GriffonVox invites the audience to a journey to their selves.
Holistic Environmentalism
For GriffonVox a modern environmental awareness naturally has high significance. The performance project intends to alert the audience and wishes to bring the topic Environmental Awareness, in a modern manner, back to the everyday consciousness. Through images and sounds the audience is intended to become sensibilized to experience themselves again as part of the whole.
Performance Show
GriffonVox is not just another "band on stage". The show presents an epic and hypnotic performance - a composition of dance, drama and vocals. Aloof - sometimes wild, sometimes lascivious, slow and ritualistic - the Sick Sisters embed every track in a specially-tailored choreography. Associations to wild banshees, magic rituals, Kabuki theatre and Butoh dance are not brought about by coincidence.
GriffonVox presents art on stage, an experience which goes far beyond the understanding of a "normal" gig.
Performers
Mister A. (A. von Greifenkeil): Vocals, Machines, Arrangements, Lyrics.
Since 1997 he realized projects of light, dance, and sound.
Instead of becoming an environmentalist or resistance fighter of the external, he already started in his early years by searching for alternatives, which could cause changes to the outside in other, more substantial ways.
That way GriffonVox and Greifenkeil were born as spin-off products of many years of experience with archaic forms of meditation and shamanistic practices.
Mister A. is a trained druid, and holder of a Pre-Christian, Proto-Celtic tradition. He holds a state certified degree in Naturopathy, and acts as a coach (individual, creative and business level), poet and author.
