In the Spring of 2008 South London had given birth to a fusion of five restless musicians each with a history in previous musical outfits stemming from Metal, Indie, Jazz, Rock n' Roll, Death, and Prog. Named after one of the most notorious villains in the history of Disney films, Grimhilde evolve as a bastard child of Classic Hard Rock with a keen fostering for contemporary Metal and experimental groove. Their music has an obvious celebration for the power riff and an unorthodox focus on arrangement. Whether its a specifically honed song for that singalong factor, or a journey through space and time one thing is a certainty with Grimhilde, and that's their full commitment to the power of ROCK. Grimhilde will certainly tease you with that shiny apple, so come and head bang down to a live show where you can definitely get a taste of that juicy mess.
"A fusion of jazz rock funk metal operatic nudity (I kid you not I saw membrane and it scarred me for life) Grimhilde are an anachronism an enigma, show quite a lot of self abasement and good humour. Grimhilde's collective heart is definitively rock and metal but the sum total includes a vast eclecticism. For starters keyboards have been passe in rock since I was young and that, trust me, was a long time ago. Gotta admire a band from any genre that are at least trying to do something different, to be more interesting. One of about 5 rock bands in the last 5 years that I have actually enjoyed." - Carl, 2BOB
"Female Soul Powered Rifftastic ExperiMETAL. If you have an attention deficit problem these groovologist moguls will shoot at your dancing toes whilst remorselessly laughing in your face. For fans of Black Sabbath, Tool, Deep Purple." - DECIBEL HELL
