Andy Doherty, Pete Michelinie, David Tanklefsky and Lyle Brewer are Grimis. They are four elementary and middle school friends who grew up playing music together in Massachusetts and have been touring, making records and making friends since circa 2001. The band has released three records, the most recent being their eponymous 2008 offering. Currently, Doherty and Michelinie reside in Portland, Oregon. Tanklefsky lives in Brooklyn, New York performing both as a solo artist and with a newer musical project, Post Panda. The three are re-grouping for a run of shows in the Pacific Northwest in late October followed by an East Coast run and tour DVD screening in December 2009. Guitarist and founding member Brewer lives outside Boston and is the lead guitarist in Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles.
