actually animals are the one thing he IS consistently kind to... removed the blog anyway because it's whiny and today I hate myself for writing it in the first place.
I have such a strange relationship with my brother.
well obviously people in the forums are retarded, that's just a fun way to pass the time.
But the Yes on Prop 8 campaign spread lies and inaccurate information. That's a fact.
I'm not saying the No campaign didn't put a lot of money into arguing their side, I'm not saying some of them didn't get a little too radical with demonstrations. I don't know.
But the fact that people voted based on lies and misinformation, and some are STILL confused (witness the guy in forums who's anti gay and did a happy dance because people "voted down that proposition for gays" WTF?!) - this all implies to ME that there needs to be a more definite vote on the issue, with a clearer statement made and misinformation being heavily penalised.
I still think it was an unfairly worded proposition, and that they did it on purpose to confuse people. "Yes I don't think gays should marry" is an illogical statement. I think they should do it again, PROPERLY. And I DON'T think Utah should be allowed ship a pile of Mormons into the state to spread lies and hatred. The tv ads centred around the LIE that a no on Prop 8 meant schools would be teaching homosexuality in sex ed class. A lot of people voted based on lies or based on confusion about what a yes/no vote meant.
If it's simplified, voted on, and passes again... whatever. That's democracy for you, I'll accept that. But to say that it was a fair vote when there was billions of dollars of pure spin on tv channels making up bullshit and lies about the implications.... No. That's not a fair democratic vote at all.
And whatever you say about me not using my brain or not having abstract ideas about 'concepts of marriage' and blah blah blah... I'll continue to stand by what I believe is right.
