Phish, The Grateful Dead (especially BRENT MYDLAND....RIP), Bob Dylan, Neil Young, King Crimson, Frank Zappa,The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Stones , The Who, Yes, Gordian Knot, Mr Bungle, Motorhead, Black Sabbath,Iron Maiden, Wolf's guitar guru RUBEN DIAZ!!!!!! And a host of others it's a very original sound!!!!
Grinch is an original high-energy band that was founded in the college town of Newark, DE. Over the 7 years the band was together, they developed a national fan base and a mailing list of almost 10,000 + people. Starting out as a group of friends jamming on acoustic guitars for fun a UD parties, they soon became much more proving themselves as a formidable touring act playing over 200 in almost 40 states every year for 7 years. By piling a wall of amplifiers behind them and adding a drummer, they went electric in a big way!!! Soon followed keyboards and congas plus the help of a sound man and lighting designer.Suddenly, the band was born!!! As tours began to get longer and equipment got larger they expanded their touring circut to the western region of the US and beyond!!!! The band single handedly recorded and released it's first album "Grinch" in 1995 and sold almost 15,000 units independenly! This attracted the attention of Ground Zero Records ( a division of Geffen Records in Philly, PA) in 1997 as the band approached the studio with new songs and new members they recorded "Move" a rowdy album full of signature guitar riffs and well crafted lyrics, but live is always where Grinch always felt at home and their blazing light shows and massive jams all became a signature part of the Grinch experience...you know when you go to see them you're gonna get a show!!!! The new direction of the band was more poly-rythmic and funk groove based!! In the fall 1998 front man Wolf Navarro announced he was leaving the band for personal reasons and the band broke up after years of laborious work and a brutal touring schedule...BUT...in 2005 they returned to the east coast for the first time in 9 years and played three of the hottest shows they ever played!! They are back and better than ever!!! Look for them in your town or bed soon!!!!
