REVIEWS:
XXJFG blog (about Fifth aka First Transmission): "Grobbing Thristle decide not to bite yet, they just grin, the effect is scary enough, Polish sex noise staring at you from the black corner of that cell which is your life, or the soundtrack for Twin Peaks as orchestrated by Wolf Eyes, there is a quiet beauty to this tune, a warm embrace of darkness, Grobbing Thristle know it is not something to be scared of because it lies inside every heart, it is just a bit closer to the surface in theirs, and it beats strong". ///////
ALIEN E-ZINE:
"Experimental electronics has various forms and combination of styles and there is mixed a lot of elements and industrial forms. In this case it's a better form of combination of experimental blocs and atmospheres. For regular mortals this album will be surely hard to swallow, but after a longer search your senses will mentally suffer and put you in surfaces where this sound flows will set up your psychic form and redundancy. I have got to listen to it at seven in the morning and after absolving this kind of sound blast, in which dominates cycled blocks and sound constructions, I was looking at the beginning of the day with excitement and I was feeling like after morning workout. Soft noise membranes and crazy vocal interpretations are in this case quite a psychic terror, so for me personally quite a cleaning. Pretty crazy and disturbed listening... Only for the chosen ones!" 4/5 stars

GROBBING THRISTLE: Hidden Strategies digipack CD (Beast Of Prey 2009)
BEAST OF PREY PRESS INFO: Who would expect that under the name Grobbing Thristle are hidden mutated clones of Genesis P. Orridge, will be surprised by the amount of sound strategies used by the Polish ensemble. On one of the levels Grobbing Thristle play steel symphony of postindustrial earthy Inferno. Noisy wind of clicks, cracks, laptop grinds, insect like microsamples and psychotic looped vocals lead into paranoic world like in novels of Philip K.Dick. The thing that scares here the most is by paradox, the most common and accustom element - voice. The words "...So yes I have to go now, so bye bye..." opening the album sound like a goodbye before descending into the abyss. But this is a hell of cybernetic robots - this is a music that brings pain. Fortunately for artistic might of the recordings GT knows how to dose it.
Grobbing Thristle is close to Coil's vision of "lunar music". It's the same type of psychoactive spells, slowly finding and tasting what hidden beyond the courtain of everyday time. The project idea came from Radek Dziubek, former co-creator of Blimp (grow up from post-punk scene and minimal rock Polish precoursors of postrock fusions). From them they learned how to describe the fragile nature of world, by dosing the intense of sonic signal. GT made one rare thing - finding energy between what "live" and "mechanic", emotional and dehumanized, spontanous and constructed, created their own musical idiom. What more important - even though their experimental ambitions, the recordings hipnotyze with dense, mysterious, and often monochromatic aura. Dark and disturbingly beautiful album.
