Groover Bio: (English)
In May of the year 2003, Groover was started in Bergen op Zoom as a ska/reggae/funk-band. The first year was used mainly to search for more bandmembers and to write songs. From 2005 on it went better and the number of gigs started growing. With an own sound and repertoire, Groover played (amongst other gigs) at 013, Paard van Troje and Bevrijdingsfestival Vlissingen. Later, gigs at De Melkweg, Hedon and Bibelot followed, just as appearances in the media on Radio 3FM, Omroep Brabant and Omroep Zeeland. Groover also played in lots of musiccafes and on festivals and open-air podia throughout the country. At the end of 2005, the band came in 2nd place in the Dutch National Studentband Competition.
In the meantime, old songs have been re-written or thrown away and new material has been added to the repertoire. In March 2006, Groover presented its first demo-single which was a success that led to even more gigs. At this moment it's far from quiet concerning Groover. The band is busy working on its website www.groover.biz and added two new singers in January 2007, with whom we've been playing a lot of shows from then on. The first album "Pipabadamalajesa" was released March 2008!!!
Meanwhile the band keeps groovin' on with their infectious ska- and reggaebeats! Maybe soon somewhere near you!

In Mei 2003 is Groover als ska/reggae/funk-band opgericht in Bergen op Zoom. Het eerste jaar werd vooral gebruikt voor het schrijven van nummers en het toevoegen van bandleden. Vanaf 2005 ging het echt lopen en werd er steeds meer opgetreden. Met voornamelijk eigen werk deden we o.a. 013, Paard van Troje en het Bevrijdingsfestival in Vlissingen aan. Later volgden ook optredens in de Melkweg, Hedon, Bibelot en in de media op Radio 3FM, Omroep Brabant en Omroep Zeeland. Ook speelden we in/op diverse muziekcafés en buitenpodia door heel het land.
Eind 2005 zijn we ook nog als 2e geëindigd op het Nationale Studentenbandfestival. In de tussentijd zijn oudere nummers geschrapt of herschreven en is er nieuw materiaal bijgemaakt. In maart 2006 is de eerste demo-single gepresenteerd en dit zorgde voor nog meer optredens. Op dit moment zitten we ook niet stil, er wordt gewerkt aan onze website www.groover.biz en vanaf januari 2007 hebben we 2 nieuwe zangeressen toegevoegd, waarmee we vervolgens al veel hebben opgetreden! Het eerste volledige album van de band "Pipabadamalajesa" is maart 2008 verschenen!!!
Intussen grooven we keihard door met aanstekelijke ska- en reggaebeats! Wie weet zie je ons binnenkort een keer bij jou in de buurt!
Pim!!! Jullie waren al vriend van ons, blijkbaar... Klinkt écht leuk hier, it puts a smile on my face :) Goed spelen vanavond, die POP dinges ziet er interessant uit, En tot volgende week!
