What exactly is Groovethang? And why should you consider us for your next party or function?
Groovethang is a St. Louis band that has become known for their "faithful reproduction" of music's most popular groups. Artists such as Steely Dan, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, Al Green and The Bee Gee's just to name a few. Kristie McClanahan of St. Louis Riverfront Times says that what Groovethang is able to accomplish is "an exercise in small miracles". And she also proclaims that with their live performances of some of Pop's most complex music, Groovethang "restores the tribute to the tribute show"!
Since 1997 Groovethang has become known for special "tribute" shows, at which they are able to focus on some of their favorite artist'. Most notably, their tribute to Steely Dan has become a yearly show at The Pageant in St. Louis. Those sold out performances the past two years have also raised thousands of dollars to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Groovethang recently opened for Sheryl Crow at The Savis Center for Anheuser Busch's Christmas Party and also shared the stage with Canadian Crooner Michael Buble' at another private function.
Here are a few things to consider.
Much thought and consideration goes into everything we do. We work hard to make sure that the music we play sounds as close to the original as possible. And Groovethang won't make your ears bleed. Our diverse play list actually allows us to musically "ease" into your private party, instead of starting at full blast. From our "state of the art" sound system, to the music we play between our sets, we strive to make a "Groovethang Party" something that you will always remember for both the quality and the fun.
But simply put, it's all about the music!
