GIG were formed in 2008, featuring ex members of Children On stun and Solemn Novena. They dsecribe their sound as Groove Goth, their music features influences from many styles, Goth, Rock and industrial being the main ones.
Having formed the band,they have quickly gelled, already having releaed their first EP ASCENT to much acclaim. Their second single has now been released and is already being well received.
The band have played their first live gigs in the UK, these have been received extremely well. One review describing the band as an angrier Goth Manic street Preachers, purely for the power of their live performance. Their next UK gigs are in Leeds and London at the G fest.
The band made their mainland European debut playing The Judgement Day festival in Austria. Again this was very well received , being likened to Placebo in one review. GIG have already played The Whitby Goth festival, being on the same night as The excellent Eden House, again receiving an extremely positive and enthusiastic reception from the crowd. Including the GIG following "The Green Army"
The band as it is will change at the end of December, GIG will now no longer have a drum machine, it is important that we progress in our sound. GIG will be joined by the excellent Steve Drawbridge on drums, this we feel will take the band in the right direction. THe album is still being planned for release in March 2010.
We are happy to see a good year go towards a good end. Again we will be playing our Christmas Show in the Moscow Megasphere - and that really makes us happy. The Moscow crowd is one of the best in the world and we would love to have you all with is. It's gonna be one hell of a rock party!
