Groundspeak is a jazz fusion band that combines musical styles of all categories. Founded in Memphis in 2005, the band consists of Logan Hanna - guitar; Andrew Simons - bass and vocals; Gerald Stephens - keyboards; and Jesse Williams - drums, all of whom compose original material for the band. Their songs are as diverse as their influences.
Groundspeak is signed to Delta-Jam Records, which is releasing their debut album
Local Language. The album was produced by Sam Levine at Eclectic Studio in Nashville, Tennessee.
The band’s approach is improvisational - exploration of the unknown - pulling from styles such as jazz, blues, rock, reggae, funk, world, electronic, singer-songwriter, country, and avant garde.
Groundspeak is active on the Memphis live-music scene, having played with acts such as Colonel Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers, Garaj Mahal.
History: Andrew Simons and Jesse Williams have played music together since 1998, when they were members of Head Czech, a Nashville rock band. Logan Hanna, Gerald Stephens and Andrew Simons met and began playing together at the University of Memphis Jazz Studies Program.

Amidst what would become the rubble of the Butler St. Bazaar, in a backroom, after a smokin Groundspeak set, damn Security guard almost ruined it all.......almost... but the innate perspicacity that IS Gerald Stephens saved the day once again. Damn Good times fellow Funkonauts!!
Something smells. Speaking of smells...outside your storage/warehouse space, it smells like stale old grilled cheese sandwich grease....cooked last week, you know? Yeh, that's cool. That's cool. That's your secret to your sound. Now I know...Gerald hipped me to that.
